Mr. Ali Syllah with some of his supporters
The president of LIMAP, Mr. Mohammed Bility, praised Mr. Syllah’s courage and fortitude to contest a national seat in Liberia. He told the
audience that Mr. Syllah was a magnificent force of the LIMAP organization that deserved the organization’s support and endorsement. Mr.
Bility called on the Liberian Community in the United States to throw support behind Mr. Syllah. “Mr. Syllah’s record with LIMAP is impeccable
and I believe that he is the best person at this time to address the prevailing complex social issues that currently affect the country,” president
Bility told the elated audience.
During his days with LIMAP, Mr. Syllah left an indelible mark on the organization. He helped solidified the King Sao Bosso Lecture series, an
intellectual organ of LIMAP that is charged with the responsibility of conducting intellectual discourse and other important historical events.
Among the distinguished high profiled community stakeholders who praised Mr. Syllah’s decision, was Mr. Mohammed Sherriff, a prolific writer
and advocate of social justice in the Liberian community.” I embrace Ali’s decision, for his presence in the country will establish the foundation
for others who might have the same vision espouse” Mr. Sherriff said.
Mr. Sylla’s deliberation was accompanied by a comprehensive power point presentation illustrating the level of his engagement and
commitment to the grass root community in the country (particularly Monrovia, Liberia) since his departure eight months ago to work as a
psycho- therapy at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Liberia. Evidently, Ali Syllah has made significant breakthroughs and
impacts on both in the Ministry and within the community, especially for the Youth population in Monrovia.
Since his arrival in Monrovia, Ali Syllah has managed to galvanize the community Youth and adolescents alike. He has succeeded in creating a
basketball team, foot ball team, culture troops, and has constructed a new library from scratch where the kids can now make research and
complete school assignments including so many community and social awareness program in the district for which he will be running as
Representative in 2011.
As a forceful grass root community legend, Mr. Syllah’s instrumentality has helped encouraged the National Youth Policy program within the
Ministry of Youth and Sport that is focused on reducing the 77% youth illiteracy rate in the country to extend it’s role into rural Liberia as it
strives to transform the youth population from being perpetual recipients in society to partners of the society.
The NYP advocacy has also made it possible for the Justice Ministry to conduct a speedy trial of the unlawfully imprisoned juveniles who were
by right supposed to be held in a detention facility rather than in prison. According to report, many have now been trialed and released. The
total number now remaining in jail is 15. Thanks to Mr. Ali Solomanie Syllah, the People’s Candidate for District Number One.
Saturday September 11, Ali Syllah met with cross
session of the Liberian Mandingo Community and
members of the LIMAP organization at the
ACANA hall in Southwest Philadelphia, where he
unveiled his intention to contest the position of
Representative for District #1 in Monrovia.
“I have come home to my people with a message,
and my message you is that I have decided to
run for the position of Representative for District
Number One in Monrovia for the upcoming 2011
election. I therefore need your support and
blessings” Mr. Syllah told the assembled crowd at
ACANA. The audience rose with excitement to
applaud the firm and courageous declaration of
their candidate for the 2011 election year. An
atmosphere of jubilation and absolute relief
quickly engulfed the hall when he made the
pronouncement.
