Bahn Mandingo Association in the USA Holds 2010 Conference in New York City

Representing Georgia was Mr. Bangale Donzo. He expressed his concern about some chapters not fulfilling their dues
payment. He said that his constituents in Georgia are committed and want to contribute to the progress of this noble
association, but are concern about the lack of financial support being demonstrated by some member states.
Additionally, he mentioned that Georgia’s chapter was also concern about the inability of the National leadership in
handling the situation.

In his annual address, the National president of the association Mr. Abrahim Dukuly, extended his thanks and
appreciation to the audience and all the members in attendance. He expressed his dismay over the lack of cooperation
from the membership in New York, which according to him has affected the progress of the association. He expressed his
discontentment particularly with the youth in the association. He proposed a referendum, which accordingly will empower
the youth in steering the affairs of the association. Finally, he urged all members to recommit to the financial initiatives of
the association.  

Also Speaking at the occasion was Hon. Joe Sackor, Vice president of Felmausa and Secretary General of Bahn
Mandingo Association.  Mr Sackor provided updates on some of the association's current achievements, including the
acquisition of its Article of Incorporation and Bank Account. Acting in the capacity of financial secretary, he provided a
detail financial report of the association and reiterated the need for commitment to the association. In a brief remark, he
recognized the presence of some local community leaders in the audience, amongst which was Mr. Mohammed Kromah,
Vice president of Felmausa. Mr. Kromah for his part extended his felicitations on behalf of Felmausa and thanked the
organizing committee for the 'brilliant Job' in putting the event together.

In response to the overwhelming concerns for reform, and in an effort to further strengthen the association's leadership
structure, the followings were unanimously elected by the members to serve on the interim team. Mr. N’gofin Quisia of
Philadelphia PA, was elected as the National Vice president for Administration, Noah Kenneh of Houston TX, elected as
the National Vice president for Operation pending his acceptance. Also elected were Mohammed Bayoh of Atlanta, GA,
as Assistant National Secretary, Kwame Toure of Minneapolis MN, as Financial Secretary, and Mr. Mohammed Daramy of
Philadelphia, PA as the National Board Chairman.


In closing, Imam Osman Toure reminded the audience about the relevance of the association and encouraged the
member to be sopportive of every possitive initiative. He provided prayers for the audience and wished them a safe
return to their respective homes.  

About the Association:
The association was founded in 2007. Its current membership capacity is about 500 nationwide, and the number is still
growing. Membership registration is 5$. The association holds national conference each year to discuss issues of vital
concern affecting its members. The event is a wonderful day of interactions and acquitance amongst its members and
guests. Next year national conference will be held on Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia PA, on Sunday, September 4,

Members of the Bahn Mandingo Association in the USA on
Saturday, November 27th held its Annual National Conference in
New York City. The event which was held at the Bronx Museum of
the Arts in the Bronx, brought together an estimated 200 people,
with representatives and chapter leaders from across the United
States.  The event began with an invocation from Imam Sheik
Mohammed Kenneh of Philadelphia. Imam Kenneh invoked the
Almighty to shower his mercy on the gathering and give its
leaders wisdom to steer the affairs of the association. Mr.
Mohammed Daramy of Philadelphia PA, and Chairman of the
Planning committee provided a report on some of the
association's current initiatives. He mentioned that the association
has committed to the reconstruction of the mosque in Bahn
Township. It can be recalled, that during the civil crisis, many of
the town infrastructures, including religious centers were
annihilated and desecrated by rebel factions. At the occasion,
more than $1,500 in cash was raised towards the reconstruction
of the mosque.
