ONYMA shows support with Mr. and Mrs. Mohammed ‘Geyboh’ Kenneh

On Sunday November 15, 2009, the Organization of New York Mandingo (ONYMA) identified with Mr. and Mrs. Mohammed ‘Geyboh’ Kenneh of the Bronx
doing the naming ceremony of the couple's new born baby. ONYMA made a presentation of $380 as a goodwill gesture to the couple. As a tradition, a
congratulatory card was signed by ONYMA's members and presented to the Kenneh family. The presentation was made by ONYMA’s Traditional
Ambassador, Sheik Sheriff. Mr. Sheriff applauded Geyboh for his commitment to the organization, and reminded him that the huge presence of ONYMA's
members is a manifestation of his loyalty and commitment to the organization. He urged the members to show support for each other in times of needs, and
to understand that this is the fundamental to the existence of the organization.
On his part, the president of ONYMA, Mr. Famod Konneh admonished members to emulate the standard set by Geyboh. He reiterated the importance of
unity within the organization and cautioned members to be honest & sincere with each other as the organization forge ahead. Mr. Konneh also applauded
the members for the degree of maturity and civility exhibited doing the conduct of the just ended Felmausa inaugural event. Also present at the occasion
was the vice president of Felmausa, Mr. Mohammed Kromah. Mr. Kromah thanked ONYMA for the support in making Felmausa’s inaugural event a success.
He asserted that ONYMA’s presence was necessary and timely for many reasons. He exhorted the members to continue to exemplify a high level of maturity
and superiority at all Felmausa’s event.
Accepting the gift on behalf of the Kenneh family was Geyboh's mother Mrs. Makanaba Kenneh. She thanked ONYMA for the overwhelming support the
organization has given her son. She expressed her gratitude to the organization and its leadership for uniting the youth and for the effort in restoring a
sense of hope for the community. Geyboh Kenneh on his part thanked ONYMA for the extraordinary support rendered him by the organization. He said, the
turnout was overwhelming, but he was not surprised by ONYMA’s gesture, because he has seen the effort the organization has made in uniting the
community.
As a tradition, the child was named after Geyboh’s mother, Makanabah Kenneh. Little Makanaba is one of the newest members of ONYMA in less than a
month. It can be recalled that on Tuesday November 03, 2009, little Mariam Lassana Keita; daughter of Lassana Keita of the Bronx, NY was born.
Additionally, Mohammed Kromah; Felmausa’s VP for administration and his beautiful wife Mrs. Matengeh Kromah also gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on
Tuesday November 10, 2009.
